Medusa services

The Medusa agency for shops that do not fit a standard platform

Alpha Digital builds, migrates and maintains webshops on Medusa, the open-source commerce engine. For B2B, several stores and countries, and processes that now live in plugins, spreadsheets or emails. From Nijmegen, for companies across Europe.

Why Medusa, why us

Only Medusa

We do not build Shopify themes or WordPress sites on the side. Every service revolves around Medusa, so the expertise sits in one stack.

No fee on your revenue

Medusa is open source (MIT). On Medusa Cloud you pay a fixed plan with a 0% fee on your revenue. Selling more does not make the platform more expensive.

Your own code and data

The shop, the modules and the data are yours. You can switch hosting or agency later without starting over.

Also after launch

Maintenance, updates and further development are part of it. A shop is never finished, and a Medusa shop certainly is not.

What you get from us

  • Well-founded advice: does Medusa fit, or is cleaning up your current shop enough?
  • A data mapping of products, customers, orders and URLs, with a redirect plan.
  • The Medusa backend with the modules and custom work your processes require.
  • Your own Next.js storefront, fast and without a theme you will have to tear down later.
  • Integrations with ERP, PIM, WMS, payments and shipping, tested with real data.
  • Clear agreements on hosting, management, updates and further development.

Who it is for, and who it is not for

Medusa fits if

  • you serve business customers with their own prices, quotes or approvals;
  • you want to manage several stores, brands or countries from one backend;
  • revenue fees, apps or plugins have become a clear cost item;
  • integrations with ERP, WMS or PIM must run reliably;
  • you want to own the code and data yourself.

Choose something else if

  • you have a small B2C shop with standard products;
  • you want to go live fast without an agency or developer for the long term;
  • the pain is mainly an outdated theme;
  • you want your point of sale and webshop in one off-the-shelf system.

We will say so in an intro call too.

Our approach

  1. Step 1

    Intro call

    You show us what you use today and where it pinches. We tell you honestly whether Medusa fits, or whether cleaning up is enough.

  2. Step 2

    Discovery

    Data, processes, integrations and URLs mapped out. That gives the scope and a custom quote.

  3. Step 3

    Build

    Medusa backend, modules, integrations and your own storefront, in short rounds you can test.

  4. Step 4

    Launch

    Testing with real data, redirects, a cut-over at a quiet moment and a fallback plan.

  5. Step 5

    Further development

    Monitoring, updates and new features, based on what happens in practice.

FAQ

Questions we often get

Question not listed? Request a callback.

What does a Medusa agency do?

A Medusa agency builds and maintains webshops on Medusa: the backend with modules and integrations, a custom storefront (Next.js in our case), the migration from another platform and the management afterwards.

Who is Medusa suitable for?

For shops with their own processes: B2B with negotiated prices, several stores or countries, a non-standard checkout or integrations with ERP and WMS. For a small B2C shop with standard products, Shopify or WooCommerce is usually cheaper.

What does Medusa cost?

The software is free (MIT). Medusa Cloud is a fixed monthly plan with a 0% fee on your revenue; see medusajs.com for current pricing. The largest cost is the build: storefront, modules and integrations. We give a custom quote after a free intro call.

Can you move my current shop to Medusa?

Yes, from Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Lightspeed or a custom platform. We do it in phases where possible, with data mapping and 301 redirects. We do not guarantee a Google ranking.

Can you build one shop for several European countries?

Yes. Medusa has regions, currencies, tax settings and sales channels in its core, so several countries, languages and brands can run from one backend. Shingyo, our own case, sells across Europe.

Does everything have to be custom-built?

No. Medusa has standard modules for products, pricing, inventory, orders, regions and customer groups, plus an official B2B starter. You only build custom work for what sets you apart, such as the print proof approval and the quote engine at Shingyo.

Can Medusa run alongside our ERP, PIM or WMS?

Yes. ERP, PIM and WMS can stay the source of truth; Medusa talks to them through APIs and workflows. At Shingyo, Medusa is connected to the warehouse software Picqer. Which integration you need and who owns which data, we agree before the build.

Are the customer stories on this page your projects?

No. The stories under 'Medusa in practice' were published by Medusa, with their figures and a link to the source. Our own work is on the cases page, starting with Shingyo.
